Whether you’re still figuring out your direction or ready to polish your professional profile, these classes offer practical, guided support right when you need it.

SLA-S200: Storytelling in Career Development

Instructor: Anneka Scott, Liberal Arts Career Consultant
Format: Hybrid (self-guided online Tuesdays, in-person Thursdays)
Fall 2025 Meeting Time: Thursdays, 4:30–6:00 PM | Second Eight Weeks: 10/22–12/21

What you’ll do in this course:

    • Reflect on your experiences and values to better understand your career direction

    • Learn how to tell your personal and professional story with confidence

    • Build and polish your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile

    • Practice interview skills and elevator pitches

    • Explore career paths that align with your interests and Liberal Arts major

This course helps you build a strong professional identity by exploring how to communicate your experiences, values, and skills effectively.
Tuesdays are set aside as “Explorative Learning Days” for assignments and reflection activities, while Thursdays are dedicated to in-person class time. Open to all students, with a special focus on Liberal Arts majors who want to develop their professional story and materials in a supportive setting.

UCOL-U210: Career Connections

  • Explore potential majors and careers through customizable assignments

  • Set realistic career goals and create a plan to reach them

  • Identify your values, interests, skills, and personality to guide decision-making

  • Build career tools like resumes and cover letters at your own pace

  • Choose assignments that match your needs—whether you’re starting fresh or transitioning careers

This 1-credit course offers a flexible, customizable experience ideal for transfer students, transfer student athletes, adult students, and/or anyone navigating a career transition or seeking clarity

You’ll select from a range of assignment options that match your individual needs while still covering essential career development topics. Whether you’re starting from scratch or building on years of experience, this course is designed to meet you where you are—without busy work or unnecessary assignments. The instructor is available for one-on-one support throughout the course.
