Larry Zimmerman, Professor Emeritus, has been awarded the 2021 Royal Anthropological Institute’s Lucy Mair Medal and Marsh Prize for Applied Anthropology. Dr. Zimmerman is a pioneer in the development of archaeological ethics and the treatment of the remains of the dead. He is a Professor of Anthropology and Museum Studies as well as a Public Scholar of Native American Representation. Professor Zimmerman has authored, edited or co-edited 20 books and over 300 articles, book chapters and technical reports. He has served as both Secretary and Vice President of the World Archaeological Congress. Professor Zimmerman has been a consultant for a wide range of American Indian nations and organizations.
