Advising

You have a successful team made up of at least three people: your faculty mentor, academic advisor, and career consultant.

Your faculty mentor assists you in navigating Medical Humanities and Health Studies by exploring career paths, providing advice on your professional goals, and identifying internship opportunities.

Your academic advisor will help you with registration, serve as your advocate, troubleshoot challenges, answer questions, and refer you to other campus offices, when needed.

  • Email an academic advisor at laadvise@iu.edu, call at 317-274-3976, or stop by the Advising Office in Cavanaugh Hall Room 401.

Your career consultant will help you develop your career goals and interests, network and prepare for interviews, and polish your resume and cover letter for internships, part-time jobs, professional positions, and graduate school.

Together your success team will help make your academic and career goals a reality. Developing a relationship with your team from the beginning is the first step toward a strong finish.

Schedule an advising appointment

Your academic advisor is available in-person or online via Zoom. Be sure to meet with your advisor at least once each semester to review your academic plan and identify appropriate courses for the next semester. Make an appointment with your academic advisor or career consultant online or call Liberal Arts Student Affairs at 317-274-3976.
