Dr Whitehead, Sociology, School of Liberal Arts and Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture
IU Indianapolis sociologist Andrew Whitehead was invited to submit expert testimony to the United States House of Representatives Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. Whitehead and colleague Samuel Perry provide an analysis of national survey data to demonstrate how the Christian nationalism on display at the January 6th Capitol Attack represents broader trends in American public opinion including support for political violence and belief in baseless conspiracies.
