Be sure and check out Chalkbeat Indiana’s piece on the lack of an endorsement by the Indiana Political Action Committee for Education (which is connected with the Indiana State Teachers Association) in this year’s gubernatorial election. One might expect an organization like a teachers union to always endorse a candidate, but there are often more strategic considerations than simply which candidate has the most similar policy positions.
