If you have not learned Arabic before and have no previous knowledge of the language, then start with NELC-A 131.
If you have taken Arabic before or have previous knowledge of the language as a heritage student or else, you are urged to take the appropriate placement test to assess your level of proficiency and be placed in the best course for your abilities.
Students may test out of first year course work and/or the first semester of the second-year course work and qualify for special credits at a reduced fee after successfully completing the IUPUI course into which they are placed.
