27 years ago, Dr. Liz Kryder-Reid joined the IUPUI (now IU Indianapolis) faculty, ready to make a difference. Since 1998, Liz has worked tirelessly to build IUI Museum Studies into the leading program that it is today. She has helped turn passionate students into successful, collaborative, and hardworking museum professionals. Liz has taught us all how to work with and for the community, ensuring that museums are places of growth, connection, and change.
She has helped us define and truly live out our program’s core values of civic engagement, applied learning, integration, collaboration, inclusion and leadership. In everything she does, Liz embodies these values and helps to ensure that all her students are set up to embody them as well.
Liz has inspired hundreds of museum professionals. Her work and legacy on this program will continue to inspire many students in the future. We are so grateful for all of the love and passion she has put into the program. Congrats on retiring, Liz! Enjoy this new chapter.
