If you have experience in the field but are ready to enhance your knowledge and skills, or you are a professional from an allied discipline who wishes to transition to public relations, the Master of Arts in Public Relations is ideal for you. Graduating seniors are invited to apply as well. The program is designed to prepare you for professional public relations positions in a wide variety of industries.
You will participate in real-world learning experiences, including public relations campaigns and crisis communication plans for local organizations. Past students even collaborated with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
This professional graduate program offers coursework online, hybrid, or at night on Indiana University’s downtown Indianapolis campus in modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Course topics include PR research and evaluation and tactics and techniques, starting your own PR business, managing a firm, creating online content such as blogs and social media, completing a successful PR campaign, and more. You will be prepared for management positions in public relations firms, corporations, government agencies, nonprofits, associations, and health and life sciences organizations.
You can complete the 30-credit-hour degree in two or three years. No thesis is required.
