Jonas Bjork has taught communication law, journalism history, media writing and international mass communication at IUPUI for more than 30 years.
Bjork, professor of Journalism & Public Relations, joined the faculty of the IUPUI School of Journalism in 1988. He served as executive associate dean of the School 2013-14 and as chair of the Department of Journalism and Public Relations 2014-2020. In 2012, he was the Fulbright Distinguished Chair of American Studies at Uppsala University, Sweden. He is a four-time recipient of the Indiana University Trustees Teaching Award.
Bjork is the co-author of two books, several book chapters and numerous articles in scholarly journals such as Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism and Mass Communication Educator, Journalism History, Scandinavian Studies, The Historian, American Studies in Scandinavia, International Journal of Comic Art, and Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television.
