Sports Journalism at IUPUI

As an undergraduate with a concentration in sports journalism, you are positioned to learn from seasoned pros and to cover high-level games and events as a student journalist. Courses like Sports, Scandals, and Society and Sports Journalism Writing prepare you with the fundamentals of researching, interviewing, reporting, writing, and editing.

Students have written articles, game re-caps, and athlete/coach profiles for teams and events such as the Colts, the Pacers, the Fever, the NFL Combine, IUPUI Athletics, and the Horizon League men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

Sports Capital Journalism Program

The Sports Capital Journalism Program, site offers an additional opportunity to earn a Master of Arts in sports journalism. As the first U.S. graduate program in sports journalism, master’s students benefit from established partnerships with national and local sports organizations such the Associated Press Sports Editors, the NCAA, the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Indians, and IndyCar Series, to name a few.
