Feeling anxious? Stressed? It’s not uncommon to feel this way in college. We could be talking about anxiety around speaking in public, math anxiety, science anxiety or even stress about getting things done on time. It happens to all of us at times.
So, what can be done about it?
Remember to use the resources you have on campus to help. Did you know there is a speaker’s lab where you can practice and get feedback on speeches or presentations? Contact the Bepko Learning Center for more information! Did you know that your Success Coaches have resources about prioritizing course work? Your success coaches are there to help and have many resources to help you to succeed in your academic pursuits! Did you know that you do not have to be struggling to utilize the tutoring offered on campus? Again, contact the Bepko Learning Center, they have tutors and study groups available to help smooth the process! A good support system can make a world of difference.
Also, take time to practice self-care as well. It’s all about balance. You need to take care of you to take care of business. Make sure you are eating well and getting enough rest. Even something as minor as taking a ten-minute break to move around a bit can refresh you to get back to your studies! Make time for friends and family, just remember to keep this in balance with completing your assignments.
