Internships are highly recommended for establishing your portfolio, building your resume, and landing the career you want. Internships also challenge students to incorporate experiential learning into their degree programs for intellectual and professional development.
Even if you have job experience, consider an internship as part of your academic career. You may earn degree credits while building your resume and meeting professional contacts.
Why complete an internship?
- Employers look for candidates with relevant experience and often give preference to those who complete internships.
- Internships help you to determine your strengths, preferences, and passions in different work environments.
- You will apply material from the classroom to real-world scenarios.
- Internships help determine additional courses that might be beneficial to you.
- You will establish networking connections and professional references to use throughout your career.
- Give your resume a boost.
- You gain confidence
