Advising

You have a successful team made up of at least three people: your faculty mentor, academic advisor, and career consultant.

Your faculty mentor assists you in navigating Geography by exploring career paths, providing advice on your professional goals, and identifying internship opportunities.

  • Andy Baker, Undergraduate Faculty Mentor for Geography, bakeran@iu.edu

Your academic advisor will help you with registration, serve as your advocate, troubleshoot, refer you to other campus offices, and answer questions.

  • Shannon Kelley, Geography academic advisor, 317-274-8495, kelleysl@iu.edu

Your career consultant will help you develop your career goals and interests, network and prepare for interviews, and polish your resume and cover letter for internships, part-time jobs, professional positions, and graduate school.

Together your success team will help make your academic and career goals a reality. Developing a relationship with your successful team from the beginning is the first step toward a strong finish.
