When junior Jacob Keith and his roommate, marketing major Pierce McCammon, were trying to think of a name for their newly-conceived podcast, they were sitting at a round table in Tower Dining.

“We thought, ‘Think how good of a title ‘Thoughts From the Round Table’ would be for a podcast,’” said Keith.

The name stuck.

“Thoughts From the Round Table” is a podcast about movies and television. Keith and McCammon enjoy watching movies together and discussing them, so they decided to take it to the next level and share their thoughts with the public.

Keith and McCammon pitched the idea to the Campus Citizen, IUPUI’s independent, student-run online publication, and it was approved by the editors.

“I was ecstatic,” Keith said. “I think that podcasting will help me become a better communicator and a better storyteller.”

Keith said he remembers listening to podcast hosts Bill Simmons and Joe Rogan and wishing he were doing what they were doing. He thought it would be a fun endeavor.

When Keith and McCammon first started the podcast, they had a plan to release an episode every two weeks. To their surprise, their first episode got about 130 views in less than a day, so they bumped up their production to at least one episode a week and possibly more.

McCammon designs all of the graphics for the podcast.

“I’m so thankful that I have Pierce as my partner with the podcast,” Keith said. “We hope to use our podcast as a way to express our opinions about the things we love to talk about.”
