Real-world impact through civic engagement and understanding

The Sociology Club is a student-run organization allowing you to come together with faculty and the community in a space outside of the classroom. The Sociology Club partners with organizations on campus and in Indianapolis and organizes social and community events.

The Sociology Club focuses on four areas:

  • academic and educational programs;
  • professional networking;
  • social awareness and understanding;
  • civic engagement.

Community Events

Members of the Sociology Club have participated in many local community events, including the Out of Darkness Community Walk, which focuses on suicide awareness and prevention. The Club surpassed its goal and raised over $600 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Another recent civic activity in the community involved partnering with Gleaners Food Bank of Indianapolis.

Social Events

The Sociology Clubs has lots of social events, so come and join in on the fun. Hang out with friends during our virtual game nights!

How to join

All students are free to join and participate in Sociology Club events; you do not need to be a Sociology major or minor to attend. For questions, email socclub1890@gmail.com or Club president, Brittney Ortiz baortiz@iu.edu.
