We are pleased to announce that Sarah Layden, a respected member of our English department faculty, received recognition as an honoree for the 2024 Indiana Author Awards.

HEADSHOT Sarah Layden JG PSarah’s short story collection, Imagine Your Life Like This, landed her a place on the 2024 Fiction Shortlist. The collection showcases characters at a turning point, if only they could gain a clearer perspective on themselves and their circumstances.

In 2019, the Indiana Author Awards, founded in 2009 by Glick Philanthropies, teamed up with Indiana Humanities to celebrate the impact of Hoosier authors on the literary world in Indiana and beyond. Every other year, the awards honor and applaud the top books released by Indiana authors within the last two years in nine different categories. More information on the awards can be found here.

Being selected as a finalist for the 2024 Awards is a significant accomplishment that showcases the excellence of her work, her impact on the literary world, and recognizes her remarkable contributions to literature, as well as her commitment as both a writer and educator.

Please join us in celebrating Sarah Layden for this well-earned recognition, and we look forward to seeing more of her impactful work in the future.
