Mautrice Meriweather is the Chief Talent Officer at the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). She has been with the organization for 21 years. The NFHS is the national rules writing body for competitive high school sports and activities. In her role as Chief Talent Officer, Mautrice serves as the human resources strategic thought partner on the NFHS Executive Leadership Team. She is responsible for leading the human capital efforts of the organization, ensuring that the national office is attracting and retaining high-performing talent while also creating opportunities for growth and professional development of the national staff, as well as the 51 member state association offices for which the NFHS serve. Mautrice also leads a team of staff members dedicated to growing the efforts of the national office in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Mautrice earned her Bachelor’s in English from IU School of Liberal Arts in 2001 and immediately applied the degree to her professional work, which required quality writing at a national-level. In 2015, Mautrice received her Master’s in Applied Communication also from the IU School of Liberal Arts with a focus on organizational communication. The coursework in both her undergraduate and graduate programs has been supplemental to her work as an organizational leader and executive at the highest level in human resources.
