Malcolm Moran, director of the Sports Capital Journalism Program and an IUPUI journalism professor, has been named the 2021 Inspiring Sports Storyteller recipient by the Indiana Sports Corp.
Moran will be honored for the award at the Pathfinder Award event on April 1. Additionally, he was recently featured on an episode of Inside Indiana Business with Gerry Dick about the program and his award.
“My students will tell you that I am not speechless very often, but this is one of those moments,” Moran said on Twitter. “My sense of gratitude is difficult to describe. I’m thankful for all the people whose trust made many of those stories possible.”
The announcement of the award comes at a busy and exciting time for Moran, who is currently guiding, teaching, and mentoring seven Department of Journalism and Public Relations students as they cover the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for NCAA.com and the Sports Capital Journalism Program website.
