Are you excited about the potential to connect with other members of the IU Indianapolis community that possess shared advocacy, passion and talents for Theatre and other branches of performing arts? Do you miss that feeling of connection and ensemble you can have with other artists? Would you like to be part of a club that is student-driven and whose activities are informed by their own mission? Then Jag Performing Arts Club (JPAC) is just the organization for you!
Founded in the winter of 2015, Jag Performing Arts Club (or JPAC as it is familiarly known on campus) is the student theatre organization, whose primary goals include the facilitation of social gatherings, workshops, performance outings and independent performance production. JPAC’s mission is to spread joy of performing arts by having students engage, present, and perform in theatrical arts no matter whether they want to act on stage, help behind the scenes, or watch performances.
Led by a group of student officers, JPAC can easily boast over 500 students on its email listserv and as members of its Facebook group, which it uses to promote its own auditions and events, along with casting notices, internships opportunities and performance-related resources for IU Indianapolis students from the greater Indianapolis area.
As a member of Jag Performing Arts Club, you’ll have agency and your own budget and have an artistic vote in its entirely student run theatre offerings during the academic year that have included such things as talent shows, one act plays, monologue showcases and the ever popular “Jag Voices”. “Jag Voices” focuses on performing student generated work and provides a unique and vital outlet for artistic expression that is open to all IU Indianapolis students, not just those with a declared Liberal Arts focus. All productions and events are open to everyone, and you’ll have the opportunity to take artistic leadership roles of all kinds.
