During orientation, you will take an English placement test, set up your university email account, get your username and password, be introduced to the university’s course management system called Canvas, and learn about opportunities on campus.
Please note: you cannot arrive late. If you miss orientation, you will miss crucial information about studying at PIE.
Please plan to arrive in Indianapolis at least 1 day before orientation.
English Placement Test
On the first day of orientation, you will take a placement test to determine your PIE level.
This test will cover Listening, Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading, and Writing in English.
It is a general English test – you do not need to study.
This test is done in person, on paper.
You cannot have your phone during this time.
We will grade your test and provide your level results by the 2nd day of orientation.
