Students must achieve 80% or higher attendance in every class to pass their level.
Students in Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 must earn:
EITHER
An average of 80% or higher in all their classes, with no grade below 70%
OR
An average of 70% or higher in all their classes, with no grade below 70%, AND score at the next level on the proficiency test.
Students in Levels 5 and 7 must earn an average of 80% or higher in all their classes, with no grade below 70%
AND
score at the next level on the proficiency test.
Usually, students are allowed to take the same level no more than three times. If a student does not pass the level after taking it for the third time (see Requirements for Passing a Level, above), they may be academically dismissed from the PIE.
