If you have an F-1 visa, you are allowed to take one session off as a “vacation session” after studying for four sessions in a row.
Example:
Study Spring 1, Spring 2, Summer 1, Summer 2
Take a vacation session Fall 1
Return to study again Fall 2
If you have any other kind of non-immigrant visa or you are a U.S. permanent resident, citizen, refugee, or out of status, you can take a session off at any time. If you take more than six months off, you will need to take the placement test again when you return to PIE.
Sometimes there is almost no time between one session and another. Other times there may be two or three weeks between the session. Check the Session Calendar to understand how many days you have free.
