University After PIE

Continuing your Education after PIE

If you are interested in studying in a University program after improving your English at PIE, we can help!
We have partnerships with IU Indianapolis, Ivy Tech Community College, Butler University, the University of Indianapolis, and Trine University.
Please note: the application to PIE and the application to university are separate.
International students must show proof of English proficiency in order to be admitted to a degree program in the United States.

UNDERGRADUATE (BACHELOR’S):

  • When you pass Level 5 at PIE, you meet the English proficiency requirement for undergraduate degree programs (Bachelors)  at IU Indianapolis, University of Indianapolis, and Ivy Tech.
  • When you pass Level 6 at PIE, you meet the English proficiency requirement for undergraduate degree programs (Bachelors) at Butler University and Trine University.
  • You will not have to show a TOEFL or IELTS score for your English proficiency requirement for these approved programs.

 

GRADUATE (MASTER’S):

  • When you pass Level 7 at PIE, you meet the English proficiency requirement for Master’s degree programs at select programs at IU Indianapolis
    • check with the individual program to ensure they accept PIE!
  • For these specific programs, you will not have to show a TOEFL or IELTS score.
  • Please note depending on the Master’s degree program you plan to take, you might have to show some other test scores, like the GRE or GMAT test. 
  • You should talk to an advisor in the Master’s degree program as soon as possible so that you understand all the requirements for admission. 


WHEN SHOULD I APPLY TO UNIVERSITY?

If you plan to go to college or university after PIE, you should apply early.
We recommend applying at the same time that you apply to PIE, or soon after.
Do not wait to apply to the degree program until you have finished studying at PIE. 

 

CONDITIONAL ADMISSION:

PIE does not give you conditional admission to IU Indianapolis degree programs.
PIE provides English classes to help you meet the English proficiency requirement for admission to IU Indianapolis and select other colleges and universities.

To get conditional admission to a university degree program, you must apply to that degree program as well as to PIE.
PIE has a relationship with IU Indianapolis, Butler University, University of Indianapolis, Ivy Tech Community College, and Trine University.
We are happy to connect you with our University partners so that you may receive admission to your University degree program after finishing your studies at PIE!

If you want to go to college or university after you study at PIE,
please note that you must apply separately to the degree program and meet the other requirements to be admitted.
