Greek Goddess Scholarship in Classical Studies
Overview
The Greek Goddess Scholarships were created by Aristea Pappas in memory of her husband, William Angelos Pappas, to express dedication and commitment to the School of Liberal Arts and IUPUI (now IU Indianapolis) and to provide opportunities for students to expand their worldviews and life experiences through their studies. This scholarship will support a scholarship for one student pursuing an individualized major or minor in classical studies, ancient Greek and Latin, or equivalent area. Preference will be given to a student with financial need.
Selection Criteria
Recipient will be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing an individualized major or minor in classical studies, ancient Greek and Latin, or equivalent area who demonstrates academic excellence and an interest in expanding their worldview/experience through their liberal arts studies. Preference for student with financial need.
To be considered, the applicant will need to submit a 500-word essay answering the following prompt:
"Why is Classical Studies important to you? How has Classical Studies expanded your worldview/experience? How do you hope it will do so in the future?"
