James R. East Scholarship Fund

Overview

This scholarship was created to recognize the 29 years of service by Associate Dean James R. East to the IU School of Liberal Arts and to support and encourage former members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis (BGCI) to study in a degreed curriculum in the IU School of Liberal Arts.

Criteria

Must have been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis (BGCI) to be eligible. A Committee composed of the Chair of the Scholarship Committee of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis and two members of the faculty and/or administrative staff of the IU School of Liberal Arts will select the recipient.

Applicant will be enrolled to study in a degreed curriculum in the IU School of Liberal Arts. Additionally, the applicant must have obtained a “C” average GPA or higher in high school. Recipient must show demonstrated financial need and be able to show a likelihood of degree completion.

This scholarship is renewable if grade average of “B” or higher is maintained.
