M. William Lutholtz Memorial Scholarship
Overview
M. William Lutholtz (Bill) received his B.A. in Political Science in 1976, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the IU School of Liberal Arts in 1985, and the IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award in 1993. He was the editor of the IUPUI Sagamore and returned to school in the 1980s to teach journalism and communications on a part-time basis. He was a respected journalist and public relations professional in Indianapolis before he passed away in 1995. This scholarship was established in his memory.
Selection Criteria
The M. William Lutholtz Memorial Scholarship supports undergraduate students in the Department of Journalism and Public Relations in the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis. Requested application materials include:
- List of professional (non-student) media-related positions you have held
- List of college publication, broadcast, or other media experience you have held
- Which journalism instructor or faculty members best know your work and in which class(es) did you have this instructor?
- In 250 words or less, tell us about your goals and ambitions. What do you hope to gain through your college degree and where do you hope to be in the next five to ten to twenty years?
