Suzanne K. Steinmetz Scholar in Sociology
Overview
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Sociology Master's Degree program at the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis. It honors the memory of Professor Suzanne Steinmetz, beloved mother and wife, dedicated colleague, and accomplished teacher and scholar of the Department of Sociology in the IU School of Liberal Arts whose deep and long-standing commitment to the department and its students, particularly at the graduate level, was inspirational.
Selection Criteria
Students must be enrolled in the graduate degree program in the Department of Sociology at IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis.
Applicants must have completed 18 credit hours towards their MA degree in Sociology, be enrolled in coursework for their degree while receiving the award, and have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 point scale.
Students must be making adequate progress toward their degree (e.g., no incompletes, and all conditional acceptance met, while receiving this award).
University Fellowship recipients are not eligible and priority will be given to students without a Sociology Department-funded Fee Remission Scholarship and who have demonstrated academic excellence in their course work.
