Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Undergraduate Essay and Research Writing Contest
Overview
This award recognizes excellence in undergraduate student research and/or creative writing addressing Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Selection Criteria
- Open to any undergraduate student enrolled at IU Indianapolis during the past academic year. A student who has graduated may submit work, provided the paper was completed while the author was a student at IU Indianapolis.
- Submissions must address women, gender, or topics of special concern to women. The selection committee will evaluate feminist scholarship, coherence, creativity, organization, originality, and overall writing quality.
- Students may submit up to two (2) papers. Papers should not exceed 25 pages, with standardized citations, if outside sources are used. The author’s name should NOT appear in the submitted essay. Include on a separate cover sheet.
- The cover sheet should state the student’s name, address, email, and telephone number, course number and name for which the essay was originally written, department, instructor’s name, semester taken, and title of the work submitted.
