Ulla Connor Graduate Scholarship

Overview

This scholarship recognizes the donor Professor Emerita Ulla Connor and her many contributions to the Department of English, the English Second Language program, and the International Center for Intercultural Communication (ICIC) in the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis. An expert in intercultural communication and linguistics research, Dr. Ulla Connor has defined her field of study with more than 100 published articles and chapters in 10 books, as well as many distinguished awards, including an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from Abo Akademi University in Finland.

Selection Criteria

Recipients will have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by high GPA and/or other appropriate documentation as determined by the selection committee. Preference will be given to graduate students in English applied linguistics affiliated with the International Center for lntercultural Communication (ICIC). If there are no eligible students in a given year, other outstanding graduate students in the department may be considered.

How to Apply

No application, faculty nominated and selected. Nominated students will be asked by a faculty member to submit a short statement of purpose.
